Ms. Shirley Lacewell

With tender hands of compassion and genuine hearts of love, the Majestic Family joins with the devoted loved ones of Ms. Shirley Lacewell as they prepare to say “Until We Meet Again."  Ms. Lacewell was greeted by her loving Savior Jesus Christ along with others in the Heavenly Host on Thursday evening as she quietly left her room at Durham Regional Medical Center in Durham, NC.

Services Remembering a Life Well-Lived will begin with a visitation on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 between the moments of 10:30am to 10:50am at American Cremation and Funeral Services Chapel, 1204 Person St., Durham, NC where Ms. Lacewell will lie in peaceful repose. The Order of Service will begin promptly at 11am. The events will climax with Ms. Lacewell yet again, lying in tranquil repose on Thursday, March 26, 2020 between the hours of 10am to 12noon at Majestic Funeral Home Chapel in Elizabethtown, NC. At the conclusion of the visitation at 12noon, Ms. Lacewell and her adored family will be escorted to the Jones Cemetery in Clarkton, NC for Committal Rites.  It is in this place that her physical temple will remain until time is called into eternity and those who are sleep in Christ will rise first to meet Him in the air.

She leaves to cherish fond memories:  two brothers:  Richard Johnson of Brooklyn, New York and Clarence Lacewell (Dora) of Castle Hayne, North Carolina; four sisters:  Daisy L. Hughes of Nashville, Tennessee, Leavador Lacewell of Brooklyn, New York, Rose Etta Evans (Eugene) of Clinton, Maryland and Peggy Lacewell (George) of Durham, North Carolina as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Governor Roy Cooper has passed yet another Executive Order on Mass Gatherings and has reduced the limit of mourners who can attend a visitation and or funeral service. We are ONLY allowing 25 family members including ministers and staff to attend services and or be present in our establishment at the same time. Our firm is committed to providing professional services to each family that we serve, while abiding by all of the rules and regulations issued by our state officials.
