Mrs. Leatrice McKoy Obituary

Dear Heavenly Father, it is in humble submission that we ask you for comfort as we announce to all that Sister Leatrice Richardson McKoy, 94, born in Bladen County, NC to the now late Thomas Jefferson and Bessie McKoy Richardson on August 29, 1926 has changed her physical address.  What once was 71 Clara’s Corner, Elizabethtown, NC is now 777, Highway 7 in that Beautiful City called Heaven.  Mrs. McKoy, quietly stepped out of life's backdoor at Scotland Regional Hospice in Laurinburg, NC on Friday, January 8, 2021.  

The “Last Mile” events between Mrs. McKoy and her precious loved ones will be begin with visiting moments on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 2pm to 5pm in the main chapel on the campus of Majestic Funeral Establishment in Elizabethtown, NC.  The celebratory events will climax with a Glorious Service of Remembrance by the Graveside on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 1pm in the Turnbull Community Cemetery in Elizabethtown, NC.  Yes this is as far as Mrs. McKoy’s precious daughters and relatives can trod with her on this side of eternity, however, they can find solace understanding she is now in that land flowing with milk and honey and the King of Kings is present with all the saints that have made it in each and every day. 

Mrs. McKoy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband:  Andrew McKoy;  one son: Robert Winston McKoy Sr.; one sister: Vernell Richardson McDaniel and one brother: Isaiah Richardson. 

Left to cherish her memories are her four loving and caring daughters: Linda McKoy Brooks (Thomas), Mettis McKoy Melvin (Rev. Mac Melvin) of Elizabethtown, NC, Dr. Patricia Faulk (Lonnie) of Bladenboro, NC and Sheron McKoy of the home. Also, her sister, Verda Melvin of Elizabethtown, NC. Mrs. McKoy will always be remembered and never forgotten by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will follow her beliefs and teachings.  Mrs. McKoy memories will also be cherished by a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The Majestic Servants of Service are assisting the family with all of their heart's desires.
