With tender hands of compassion and genuine hearts of love, the Majestic Family joins with the devoted loved ones of Mr. Sylvester Atkinson as they prepare to say “until we meet again." Mr. Atkinson was greeted by his loving Savior Jesus Christ along with others in the Heavenly Host Thursday, November 26, 2020 as he quietly left New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.
Mr. Atkinson’s family has reserved Saturday and Sunday, December 5th and 6th as the days to celebrate his life. Commencing on Saturday from 5pm to 7pm at Majestic Funeral Homes Elizabethtown Campus, family and friends may gather to reminisce on lasting memories while visiting with Mr. Atkinson. The events will climax on Sunday at 2pm with a Farewell Graveside Celebration at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarkton, NC. As difficult as it will be for his family to dismiss from this earthly resting place without Sylvester, all will find solace knowing he is in that land where there is a tree and its leaves are good for the healing of all infirmities. There, he will rest by the brook flowing with living water, forever resting in eternal paradise.
He leaves to cherish memories his children: Christopher R. Johnson, Sylvia Allen and Maria Bronson; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother: Lue Atkinson Sr and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
The family is receiving guests at 293 Whites Creek School Rd where they will also assemble in preparation for the Majestic Ebony Motorcade.
The Compassionate Professionals of Majestic Funeral Homes are serving the Atkinson and connected families with uncompromising dignity.
