Mr. Shelton D. Long

It is with heavy hearts that the staff of Majestic Funeral Home & Cremations announce the earthly transition of Mr. Shelton D. Long from this life to life eternal. Mr. Long entered into everlasting rest on November 4, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

There will be a time for friends to gather and spend meaningful moments with Shelton and his precious family on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 4pm until 6pm in the main chapel of Majestic Funeral Home in Riegelwood, NC. During these moments, each participant and attendee can reflect on the fond memories of Mr. Long and console his loving relatives as they say “farewell” to such a special young man. The events will climax on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1pm, with a Triumphant Farewell Ceremony at East Columbus High School Auditorium in Lake Waccamaw, NC. Following the services in the Auditorium, the Majestic Servants of Service will escort Mr. Long's delicate vessel along with his adored family to Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church Cemetery in Riegelwood, NC for committal rites. As difficult as it will be for this devoted children, mother, grandmothers, and other relatives to dismiss from this earthly resting place without Shelton, all will find solace knowing he is in that land where there is a tree and its leaves are good for the healing of all infirmities. However, all can find comfort knowing that on Thursday, he stepped on The Great Ship of Zion, trading his Barber Clippers for a pair of Golden Slippers and his L.A. Lakers Jersey for a Long White Robe.

He was preceded in death by his father: Shelton D. Jacobs.

Shelton leaves to cherish his memories:  two children: Adyen Braxton and Aubrey Long; mother: Pamela Long; father: Antonio Wike (Audra); grandfather: John Wilson; three grandmothers: Fannie Long and Karen Cherry and Hattie Wike; two brothers: KenShaun Wike and Antonio Wike Jr; one sister: Anaiyah Wike and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving visitors at the residence located at 2653 East Arcadia Rd., Riegelwood, NC during this difficult time where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Majestic Ebony Motorcade. 

The Long and connected families are receiving services of compassion and distinguished class from the Majestic Funeral Home family of Riegelwood.
