The moment has been determined by God and the task has been given to the Majestic Family to advise everyone that Mr. Roland Burney departed from Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington, NC on Thursday, November 25, 2021 leaving his bags behind but holding the hands of two angels dressed in White. No one said anything because all knew where he was going.
Details for Mr. Burney’s Life Honoring Services are finalized and have been asked to be announced thusly. On Tuesday, November 30, 2021 beginning at 2pm until 4pm, Mr. Roland’s family has elected to have him lie in repose for a public viewing in the main chapel on the campus of Majestic Funeral Home in Riegelwood, NC. At 1’o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, a formal Graveside ceremony will be called to order in the Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church Cemetery in Riegelwood, NC. One may wonder why Mr. Burney would leave his earthly belongings here when he departed this past Thursday. However, those close to him find comfort understanding that where Roland is now, there was no need for any of his earthly garments or shoes because he has a pair of Golden Slippers and a Long White Robe.
The loving legacy he leaves will always be cherished by one daughter: Remae A. Burney; one son: Roland D. Burney; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister: Carrie Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.
The Compassionate Professionals of Majestic Funeral Home of Riegelwood are serving Mr. Roland’s precious loved ones with uncompromising dignity.
