With sincere compassion and dedicated care, the Majestic Funeral Home Family has been given the responsibility to announce that Mr. Marvin Woodrow Purdie transitioned from this life to life eternal on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
The services have been methodically arranged in an order that those special to Mr. Purdie and his adored family can take part. Commencing on Friday, April 23, 2021 between the moments of 5pm and 7pm, a time of visitation and reflection will be held at Majestic Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, NC. Yes, this is as far as Mr. Purdie’s relatives can trod with him on this side of eternity, however, John the Revelator has sent good news to Mr. Purdie’s loving family when he wrote, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death neither sorrow because the former things have passed away.” Let the church say......... Amen.
Left to cherish his memories are his two daughters: Odellia Durchanek (Antonin) of Austin, TX and Marceina Purdie (Alex) of Springfield, MA; one stepdaughter: Fatima Morales (Danny) of Springfield, MA; mother: Annie Odell Johnson; father: Lardell Melvin I; three grandchildren: Erica Guzman, Purly Guzman and Arcieri Guzman; four brothers: CSM. Joe Johnson (Darlene) of Ft. Lewis, WA, Michael Purdie (Teresa) of Durham, NC, Mac Melvin (Mettis) and Lardell Melvin II (Asia); seven sisters: Michelle Johnson of Durham, NC, Annise Johnson of Elizabethtown, NC, Melody Frazier (Kevin), Cathenia Johnson of Fayetteville, NC, Lou Ester Melvin, Drusilla Wright (Eugene) and Kanesha Hudson; an aunt like a sister: Jackie Purdie of Raleigh, NC; an uncle like a brother: James Purdie (Juanita) of White Oak, NC and a host of other uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Guests are being received at the residence located at 6690 Johnsontown Rd., Elizabethtown, NC.
The Purdie family is being served with Distinguished Class by the Majestic Servants of Service.
