On October 1, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice facility in Whiteville, NC the Master closed, cut off the lights and locked the door on the body shop of life for Mr. Kirby Lee Burns. Now “The Mayor’s” devoted wife and loved ones are preparing for a dignified “Farewell” celebration.
Services to commemorate the legacy of Mr. Kirby will begin with a public visitation on Sunday, October 6, 2019 between the hours of 6pm and 8pm where Mr. Burn’s will lie in a tranquil repose in the main chapel of Majestic Funeral Homes’ Elizabethtown location. The events will climax with a Triumphant Obsequies on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 1pm at Highway of Holiness Church. Following the Order of Divine Praise, Mr. Burns’ along with his adored family will be escorted to the Lewis Cemetery for Interment Rites. Yes this is as far as Mr. Kirby’s relatives can trod with him on this side of eternity, however, John the Revelator has sent good news to Mr. Burns’ loving family when he wrote, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and they shall be no more death neither sorrow because the former things have passed away." Let the church say.........Amen.
Left to cherish fond memories are his wife, Sherry Lloyd Burns, his children, Tina Burns Lewis, Dwight Burns and Emani India Lloyd, his brother, Fred Burns and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitors are being received at 6736 NC Hwy.41 West, Elizabethtown, NC where they will congregate in preparation for the Prestigious Majestic Ebony Motorcade.
