With genuine comfort and support, the Majestic Funeral Homes family announce the peaceful transition of Mr. Johnnie R. Autry affectionately known as “Johnnie Be Good” from this life to life everlasting on Monday, October 11, 2021 while resting at his residence surrounded by his beloved family.
Life Remembering Services for Mr. Autry, will begin with a visitation as Johnnie lies in tranquil repose, on Friday, October 15, 2021 between the hours of 5pm and 7pm in the main chapel of Majestic Funeral Homes’ Elizabethtown location. On Saturday, October 16, 2021 beginning at 12noon, a Service of Remembrance will take place on the grounds of Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, NC. Immediately following the services on the grounds, Mr. Autry along with his adored family, will be escorted to the Johnson Family Cemetery in Johnsontown Community in Elizabethtown, NC for Committal Rites. As difficult as it is to accept Johnnie no longer being present physically, all can find solace knowing that God promised to wipe away all tears from this family’s eyes, as they continue to cope with a missing link in their family’s chain.
Johnnie’s memories will be cherished by his wife Shirley of Clarkton, NC., five daughters: Brenda Melvin and Cynthia (James) Locklear of Elizabethtown, NC, Melissa (Theodore) Carter of Raleigh, NC, Jennifer Smith of Clarkton, NC, and Donna Smith of Knightdale, NC. One son: Christopher Freeman of Clarkton, NC. Eight Grandchildren: Tara Melvin of Woodbridge, Va. and Sabrina Melvin of Hope Mills, NC, Jason Locklear of Berryville, VA., Huston Smith of Clarkton, NC, Raven Locklear of Raleigh, NC, Halle Stanley of Clarkton, NC, Sekoiya Burroughs of San Antonio, Texas and Aliyah Freeman of Killeen, Texas. Three great grandchildren: Elijah Smith, Nolan James Locklear and Jayce Allen. One sister: LillieJohnson of Elizabethtown. Three sisters-in law: Millicent Autry of Fort Washington, MD, Gerline Freeman of Elizabethtown, NC and Joyce (Vernon) Brown of Clarkton, NC. Two brothers-in law: Wilbert (Annette) Johnson of Elizabethtown, Thaddeus (Dorothy) Johnson of Elizabethtown, NC and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving guests at 1002 Richardson St., Elizabethtown, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Majestic Ebony Motorcade.
