Mrs. Mary Purdie George

 With tender hands of compassion and genuine hearts of love, the Majestic Family joins with the devoted loved ones of Mrs. Mary P. George as they prepare to say “until we meet again."   Mrs. George was greeted by her Lord Savior Jesus Christ along with others among the Heavenly Host as she quietly left Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC on November 23, 2018. 

Moments for family and friends to visit with Mrs. George’s earthen vessel has been designated to take place on Saturday evening, December 1, 2018 between the hours of 5pm and 7pm at Majestic Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, NC.  The Triumphant Life and Legacy Celebration will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Spring Branch A.M.E. Zion Church in Tar Heel, NC commencing at 2pm.  Following the services in the sanctuary, a funeral cortège will process to the Goodman Cemetery for Interment Rites. Those that knew Mrs. Mary knew she dedicated her life taking care of others. Now there is a vital link forever missing in her family’s chair.  The silver lining in this great loss is realizing that she finally met the Man she has read about for many years in the sixty-six books of the Holy Writ and she is strolling the Gold paved streets of Glory never to Labor in this fitful world anymore.

Mrs. Mary loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter:  Lenora Bowden; two sons:  Horace Bowden Jr. (Fannie) and John Bowden; one brother:  Leroy Purdie (Betty); children she raised as her own:   Linda Purdie Jones (Curtis), Sherry Brown Patrick),  Arnold Purdie, Brucie Purdie, Anthony Purdie and Matorri Bowden. Mrs. Mary loved all of her grandchildren so much: Nicole Bowden Hall, Dominique Coples (Anthony), Corey Martin, Missy Sinclair, Jeneen Sinclair, Juantina Bowden (Terrence), Fredarika Bowden, Antawan Sinclair, Jasmine Sinclair;    grandchildren of the home:  Evangelo Bowden (son/grandson), Mervyn Bowden, Jamie Bowden, Kadeem Bowden, Montoia Bowden, Horace Glover (Tiffany), Tyone Bowden, Donnell Glover (Krissy), Brandy Johnson, Stephoine Kemp and a host of great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a lifetime friend:  James Kirk.

Guests are being received at the residence located at 17837 NC Hwy 87 Tar Heel, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Prestigious Majestic Ebony Motorcade.
