With tender hands of compassion and genuine hearts of love, the Majestic Family joins with the devoted loved ones of Mrs. Gladies Smith as they prepare to say “until we meet again." Mrs. Smith was greeted by her loving Savior Jesus Christ, along with others in the Heavenly Host Tuesday morning as she quietly left Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Whiteville, NC.
Moments for family and friends to visit with Mrs. Smith’s earthen vessel has been designated to take place on Friday evening, March 2, 2018 between the hours of 5pm and 7pm at Majestic Funeral Home. The Triumphant Life and Legacy Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at David’s Chapel Holiness Church in Kelly, NC commencing at 1pm. Following the services in the sanctuary, a funeral cortège will process to Lagoon Community Cemetery for Interment Rites. Those that knew Mother Smith knew she didn’t mind working and she loved the Lord. The silver lining in this great loss is realizing that she finally met the Man she has read about for many years in the sixty-six books of the Holy Writ and she is strolling the gold paved streets of Glory, never to labor in this fitful world anymore.
She was the proud mother of eight children: Shirley W. Stevenson (Robert) of Jamaica, New York , Lorane W. Cook of Brooklyn, NY, Gloria Waters (Leon) of Baltimore, MD, Donna Smith of Columbus, OH, Stonie L. Smith and Johnice Autry (Kevin) both of NC and Milton Rhodie (Patricia) of Huntsville, AL; the grandmother of 21 grandchildren and a host of great-grands.
Guests are being received at 521 McLean Rd., Elizabethtown, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the Majestic Ebony Motorcade.
The Compassionate Professionals of Majestic Funeral Home are serving the Smith and connected families with uncompromising dignity.
